Hesketh — Timeline
The Heritage Committee is pleased to announce the launch of the Hesketh Golf Club Golfer’s Library.
Over one hundred books are available for members to loan out for a period of three weeks per book. A wide-ranging selection from autobiographies, biographies, the Majors, instruction, golf club histories, golf course compendiums, memorabilia etc is available, ideal for students of the game to enjoy. Local history books written by Hesketh’s first Historian, Harry Foster, are also available. The full list of books is available below and members are requested to email Keith Hick with their request: keithhick9@gmail.com
Several members have already kindly donated books to boost the Library and if you have any books to contribute to the collection, please contact Keith.
A copy of Henry Cotton’s ‘This Game of Golf’, published in 1948, was recently donated. A close friend of Harry and Arnold Bentley, the brothers are each pictured in the book with Rudyard Kipling photographed alongside Harry Bentley, watching Cotton practice.
