Visitors are extremely welcome at Hesketh Golf Club, a very warm reception is guaranteed for everyone who visits the Club. The Club is renowned for its friendliness towards visitors, and from the moment you enter the historic Clubhouse or Pro Shop, until the moment you leave and beyond. We pride ourselves on ensuring you have enjoyed your round of golf and the Club’s hospitality.

Whether you are an individual, group or society you are guaranteed a memorable golfing experience.

The Club’s Bar and Catering facilities are modern whilst sited in a clubhouse that exudes our proud history, as you would expect from the oldest golf club in Southport.

Golf

18, 27 or 36 Hole packages are all available subject to availabilty. Scott Astin our Club Professional is also available for clinics or demonstrations on the Driving Range before play.

Our Driving Range is open throughout the Summer, and provides the perfect opportunity for your group to sharpen their game ahead of a days golf.

On arrival

From the classic Coffee and Bacon Rolls all the way to our round fuelling 18 Hole Breakfast. There will always be something for everyone.

Post Golf

From a simple yet delicious home cooked meal all the way to our Fine Dining experience up in the modern yet elegant Dining Room. The choice is yours..

We offer a number of additional services which can be utilised to enhance your visit.

Buggies – the club holds a fleet of 5 club car buggies. Pre booking via the Club Office is essential.

Trolleys – the club professional maintains a fleet of electric and pull trolleys which can pre booked or hired on the day.

Club Hire – the club professional maintains a fleet of hire clubs. Pre booking via the Club Office is essential.

Caddies – upon advance request the club can facilitate caddies. Please note caddies are independent contractors and all payments are to be made direct.

Halfway House – the club operates a Halfway House service which is available most days. The Halfway House provides seasonal foods and both hot and cold beverages, including beers and ciders.

Sunday Driver Package

Our Sunday Driver Package is available upon request for bookings between April and October*.

Arrive on Sunday, enjoy 18 holes of golf here at Hesketh Golf Club, with an overnight stay including Dinner and Breakfast at The Waterfront Hotel in Southport, and a further 18 holes of golf at Hesketh Golf Club on Monday, all for just £250.00pp

(based on two people sharing one twin room, subject to availability.)

The Sunday Driver package deals are not available during  July 2026.

Visitors should note that the Club has Members and Visitors insurance in place to protect golfers up to specified limits in the event that they cause injury or damage whilst using the course.

Ahead of visiting the Club, we politely ask all visitors to familiarise themselves with the clubs Dress Rules.

Hesketh Golf Club Dress Rules

To help ensure all golfers receive a first class experience, may we please ask that all golfers:

Rake bunkers, repair pitchmarks and replace divots.

Keep all trolleys and buggies off teeing areas, greens and approaches.

Do not leave litter on the course.

Maintain an awareness of safety, golfers are reminded not to play when fellow golfers are in range, and shout FORE if in the slightest doubt of the safety of others.

Report to the Secretary Manager if you have believe you may have caused damage to property on or around the course immediately upon return to the clubhouse.

For your own and the safety of others, Visitors are requested to familarise themselves with the Club’s Health & Safety Policy.

FOG & LIGHTNING : In the event of an electrical storm, suspend play immediately & taken appropriate action. (Rule 5.7 applies).

Shelters do not provide adequate protection from lightning.

Do not continue play in fog/poor visibility, when you cannot see the clear distance of your intended shot. Only play when safe to do so.

GREENS STAFF : Have priority at all times.

Players should always alert greens staff nearby or ahead when they are about to make a stroke that might endanger them and wait for staff to move out of range.

PUBLIC FOOTPATHS – HOLES 5,6 & 7 : Paths run alongside and cross several holes on the course.  Priority must be given to members of the public.  Players must not play shots until footpaths in range are clear.

BUGGIES: To ensure the safety of all golf course users, buggy drivers are required to comply with the Club’s Buggy Policy and follow designated buggy routes at all times.  Take particular care on slopes and around ditches and deep-sided bunkers.

The Course, its Steps and Surfaces may be slippery when damp or wet.  Golfers must ensure to wear appropriate footwear to meet the prevailing conditions and consider using metal spiked shoes. Wherever possible, keep to covered areas of Footpaths & Steps.

Take care on steep banks and when entering & leaving deep-sided bunkers.

DEEP WATER : There are several ponds across the course.  Players are advised not to attempt to retrieve golf balls from ponds.  Players enter water hazards at their own risk.

FIRST AID :  Assistance is available in the Clubhouse.

ALL ACCIDENTS MUST BE REPORTED TO THE SECRETARY/MANAGER

PLAYERS ARE REMINDED OF THE NEED TO SHOUT “FORE!” IF YOU CANNOT SEE THE FULL RANGE OF ANY WAYWARD SHOT ONTO ADJACENT FAIRWAYS

Players should not play until the players in front are out of range.
Players should ensure that no one is standing close by or in a position to be hit by the club, the ball or any stones, pebbles, twigs or the like when they make a stroke or practice swing.
If a player plays a ball in a direction where there is a danger of hitting someone, they should immediately shout a warning.  The traditional word of warning in such situations is “FORE!”
On hearing “Fore!” – Crouch, cover your head with your arms and count to 10.

You are advised to carry a mobile phone to summon assistance in an emergency.
